What is an avatar and how do I use it?
Avatars are animated virtual 3D characters, which can be acquired from the web-site http://ssm.seestorm.com/avatars/. They are used by SeeStorm Messenger to make communication more personal and 'true to life'.
How can I see how my avatar looks on my friend's computer?
The avatar you see on the lower screen of the SeeStorm Messenger program window shows exactly how you are seen 'from the other side'.
Can I change avatars while talking?
You can choose an avatar for every session, as well as change avatars in the middle of the talk. To change an avatar, either before the session or during the session, choose "Change Avatar" command from Tools menu and choose one of the available avatars.
What will happen if I have not chosen an avatar?
In this case you will be represented by a default avatar.
Why sometimes when starting SeeStorm Messenger the default avatar appears first, followed by the required one?
It means that the avatar you want to use is not yet installed on your computer and it takes time to download it from the website. Such avatars are marked with system icon in the list of available avatars. To install such avatar click its name and click SELECT. Once the avatar is installed successfully, you will see its picture in the avatar list.
How come my friends use avatars I don't have? Where can I get them?
You can get new avatars at the website http://ssm.seestorm.com/avatars/.
What happens if I use a friend's computer or move to a new computer?
Regardless of the computer you are using, you will have access to all of your avatars. All your avatars are stored on the SeeStorm server. Each time you login under your UIN and Password you can access your avatar base and download them quickly to your new location. Please remember that SeeStorm Messenger should always be run under the same UIN and Password and only on the one computer at the time. |
